My name is Shelly, and I am the sole owner of The Frosty Nutcracker Holiday Treasures. I am married to Larry, and we are both Veterans of the US Army serving a combined 42 years. We have four amazing children (Joseph, Jenny, Ryan, and Kyle). Ryan and Kyle are in the Air Force, Joseph is running his own company and Jenny is living her dreams in Georgia about to have her first baby girl. The uniqueness and style of my store is built around the holiday happiness my family brought me from throughout my childhood in which I tried my best to bring forward into raising our children. I recently lost both my mom and my grandma, the two most influential women in my life. Holidays, especially Halloween, Christmas and Easter brought pure joy to them. My Mom's love for gingerbread, sweets, animals, elves, and snowmen along with all Halloween and my grandma’s love for Easter gave me inspiration to keep their names alive through building an all-year-round holiday store. These women also loved shopping like no other I have ever met.
I knew right away what I wanted to offer and how I wanted to set up my store but when it came to the name, I was stuck sitting on this for weeks. I finally went to my sister, Julie. to ask her what she thought of the many names I came up with. She was not fond of them and blurted out “The Frosty Nutcracker!” I thought “Yes!” I instantly thought this would be a great name as it combines my love for Nutcrackers, my mom’s love for Frosty the Snowman and adding Holiday Treasures because this is what we miss most about mom and grandma, shopping for treasures to fulfill the many holiday traditions we had.
Opening a holiday store also allows me to combine my passion for the holidays with my entrepreneurial spirit creating a fun and festive business that brings joy to customers all year around just as my mom and grandma would have wanted.
